
Randi Meyer: Catastrophe Adjuster
Property field adjuster Randi Meyer brings thirteen years of work “in the trenches” to CAT TALES and TIPS: Is Catastrophe Adjusting the Career for You? Deployed through Pilot Catastrophe Services and assigned to carriers such as Allstate, Farmers Insurance, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and the North Carolina Joint Underwriters Association (NCJUA), her assignments included hurricanes, hailstorms, floods, windstorms, sewage back-up events, ice storms, and tornadoes. Her catastrophe adjusting work took her to West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska, California, Florida, and Toronto.
Randi also worked as a Florida independent property adjuster, assisting with daily business claims for a wide variety of insurance carriers, and as a damage estimator for Crime Site Cleaners. During her five years on staff at Safeco as a senior property claims examiner, she was the designated representative in attendance at mediation hearings in South Florida, following the 2004–2005 hurricanes.
Previous works have been published in Claims Magazine (October 2000 and October 2009), Southern Graphics, Florida Retirement Lifestyles, and Agencia Viaje, a Spanish-language publication for travel agents. In addition, she has co-authored skits for a local community theater, The Barn. She is a member of the Morningside Writers Workshop.
Randi received a B.A. degree in English and journalism from Colorado State University, and obtained her certificate in Property Damage Estimating from Vale National in Arlington, Texas. She resides in Florida, and holds adjuster licenses in numerous states.
